The Sri Lankan government takes conservation very seriously and there are many national parks across the country. Three of the most famous are all within an hour’s drive of each other in Southern Province.
Yala is the most well known and visited. It’s famous for its leopard population, with the highest density globally. It’s also home to a variety of other animals including sloth bears, elephants and deer.
Bundala is situated on the coast and studded with lagoons. It’s a birdwatchers’ paradise and a great place to drive over the sand dunes.
Uda Walawe must rank as one of the best places in the world to see Asian elephants. You would be very unlucky to leave without seeing at least one of its herds, or a solitary tusker.
We run half-day and full day tours to all the national parks and can combine either with an overnight or multi-day camping trip.
